Applicant Profile

Our applicants have the following characteristics to start their studies:

  • Applicants have bachelor’s credentials in: Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Development Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or related to Computational Engineering, with skills in analysis and synthesis. Interested in information security risk management and cybersecurity in organizations.

What skills and abilities will you gain?

  • You will conceive, design, implement and maintain a global cyber defense system for a defined technical environment.
  • You will know and apply the technical regulations of cybersecurity in the design, operation and protection of computer systems.
  • You will maintain systems and understand the state of cyber threats, globally and locally.
  • You will master the concepts of cyber defense, cyber attack and cyber threats to implement security and plan its management.
  • You will manage risks, both to detect and to implement responses.
  • You will use artificial intelligence and innovative knowledge to offer efficient solutions.

Subjects

Know some of the relevant subjects of the Master’s:

Learn about mitigation, detection and prevention of cyber attacks. Introduction to cyber defense. Mechanisms such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and information security and event management systems.

CYB 515

Study communication protocols and their security aspects. Consider the secure protocols used in communication networks and everything that goes into their security, from the attacks that can be encountered to the defense measures that can be implemented.

CYB 605

Start your learning about big data management; relationship between big data and cybersecurity; mechanisms to manage and visualize massive data. Within data management, emphasis is placed on log analysis and event and security information management systems, which, although presented in another mandatory subject, are essential in this area.

Master IT devices, security across different architectures and protocols, and security aspects associated with specific devices, such as medical devices, surveillance cameras, or smart home devices.

Certification and international validity

Your degree will be issued in the US and in English without mentioning the "online" study modality. In case the student requires it in Spanish, it can be provided in that language. It will be valid to validate or apostille in Latin America.
